Erythranthe guttata is found alongside streambeds and in muddy backwater. It has a bright yellow corolla with a "palate" that partially obstructs the tube. The lower lip is usually marked with light brown spots. The mature calyx is papery thin and encloses the loculicidal capsule. The leaves are ovate and irregularly dentate.
