Flexitrichum flexicaule (Schwägr.) Ignatov & Fedosov
Family: Ditrichaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
Cynodontium flexicaule Schwägr.
Cynodon flexicaulis (Schwägr.) Steud.
Didymodon flexicaulis (Schwägr.) Röhl.
Ditrichum flexicaule (Schwägr.) Hampe
Leptotrichum flexicaule (Schwägr.) Hampe
Trichostomum flexicaule (Schwägr.) Bruch & Schimp.
Flexitrichum flexicaule looks very similar to Ditrichum gracile.
Flexitrichum flexicaule has a more abrupt transition from the base of the leaf
to the distal portion of the leaf. F. flexicaule also has a more convex costa
on cross section. Both of these traits can be rather subtle distinctions.
Many thanks to the University of Colorado Herbarium (COLO), Erin Tripp, and Dina Clark
for permitting us to photograph this specimen.
