Flourensia cernua is only found in open desert in the far southern portion
of the Gila National Forest. This medium-sized shrub has small obovate leaves and yellowish
flowers. The flowerheads have only disc flowers. The foliage is very resinous. The achenes are villous and have a pappus of awns. Flourensia cernua flowers late in the season at lower elevation.
