Status: Native

Synonyms:
Fraxinus lowellii Sargent

Fraxinus anomala is a tall shrub or small tree that does not reach the larger dimension of Fraxinus velutina in this area. The two species sometimes are found in the same location. Fraxinus anomala is also quickly distinguished from Fraxinus velutina by its obviously four angled twigs and small branches. The samara is single.
