(Davis Mountain Mock Vervain)
Family: Verbenaceae

Glandularia bipinnatifida (Nuttall) Nuttall var. brevispicata
Glandularia pubera has clusters of pink purple flowers at the ends of ascending branches. Glandularia pubera is a perennial with densely sessile glandular calyces. The stems have a longer set of straight hairs and a set of shorter hairs that takeoff from the stem at an angle. The leaves are deeply lobed. Glandularia pubera is very common and is found in open areas and on the roadside at middle elevation. It blooms early in the spring. The calyx is persistant and surrounds four nutlets that look like cigar butts at maturity.
