Gomphrena nitida is an upright annual herb with pink and white floral bractlets. The leaves are short petioled and ovate. Gomphrena nitida is similar to gomphrena caespitosa, but easily differentiated from it because the inflorescence is not sessile. Gomphrena nitida is found on dry hillsides and rocky slopes at middle elevation.
