Grossulariaceae
(Gooseberry Family)

The Grossulariaceae have palmately divided leaves-- rather distinctively so, and useful in the field. The fruits are translucent berries to which the sepals remain attached. The flowers have 2 styles, and otherwise all parts in fives. The ovary is inferior. In common usage, if the fruit is smooth it is called a "currant". If it is armed, it is called a "gooseberry."

Ribes aureum (Golden Currant)
Ribes cereum (Wax Currant)
Ribes leptanthum (Trumpet Gooseberry)
Ribes pinetorum (Orange Gooseberry)
Ribes wolfii (Wolf Currant)
