Gymnocolea inflata (Huds.) Dum.

Status: Native

Synonyms:
None found

Gymnocolea inflata is a small liverwort with bilobed leaves (but not complicate bilobed). The lobes are rounded, succubous, and inserted transversely. There are few scattered rhizoids, but very conspicuous large inflated perianths. Kirsten Romig collected this specimen at Valles Caldera. Thanks to Paul Davison for help confirming the ID.
