Hackelia pinetorum var. pinetorum is an upper elevation erect herb with light blue flowers and nutlets that have hooked bristles that are free to the base. The leaves are broader than those of Lappula. Hackelia pinetorum var. pinetorum is found in the Ponderosa Pine forest.
