Heliomeris multiflora is an perennial with erect stems. The inflorescence has yellow rays and a yellow disc. The flowerheads are elevated on a long peduncle. The leaves are linear to lanceolate. It is found in many types of habitat but generally in pinon and juniper woodland areas. On larger plants, it is easy to see that H. multiflora is a perennial from a woody root system (caudex), but younger or smaller plants may appear annual and the length of the peduncles becomes a better field character.
