Heuchera rubescens has spreading leaves on long petioles, like our other common Alumroot, Heuchera novomexicana. However, the leaves on Heuchera rubescens are bright light green without a purple tinge. The flowers are pinkish and unlike Heuchera novomexicana, the stamens are strongly exserted. Like Heuchera novomexicana, Heuchera rubescens is found near middle elevation seeps in rocks.
