Hygrohypnum luridum (Hedw.) Jenn.

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Hypnum luridum Hedwig
and at least 10 other synonyms (see listing at www.eFloras.org)

Hygrohypnum luridum has the elongate leaf cells of most Amblystegiaceae. In addition, there somewhat inflated alar cells, but no obvious hyalodermis. The apex is acute. Ries Lindley found this specimen on private property along an acequia near Taos.
