Until very recently known as Bahia dissecta and Amauriopsis dissecta, Hymenothrix dissecta is a very common flowering summer plant in the Gila Wilderness. The disc is yellow, as are the 15-20 notched rays. The leaves are very lobed in appearance. The achenes are longitudinally striate and generally warty in appearance with transverse ridges. Amauriopsis dissecta is common in forested areas as well as lower lying habitats. It is also a common roadside flowering species.
