Gilia multiflora Nuttall
Ipomopsis multiflora has purple flowers arranged in a spike. The flowers
are smaller than those of Ipomopsis aggregata or Ipomopsis longiflora. The stamens
of Ipomopsis multiflora are exserted. The corolla tube is two to three times the
length of the lobes. The capsule of Ipomopsis multiflora is three chambered, reflecting the three carpels of the lavender flowers. The capsules persist on the withered stem into the winter.
Ipomopsis multiflora is found in dry hillsides.
