Pseudoleskea patens (Lindb.) Kindb.
Pseudoleskea atrovirens var. patens (Lindb.) Conradi & I. Hagen
Lescuraea atrovirens var. patens (Lindb.) Mönk.

Lescuraea patens is a striking pleurocarpous moss under the microscope-- it has abundant paraphyllia. Each cell has a single, rounded papilla on both surfaces that is centered or off-centered rather than prorulose. The apex is acute but there is no hairpoint.

Many thanks to the University of Colorado Herbarium (COLO), Erin Tripp, and Dina Clark for allowing us to photograph this specimen.
