Melampodium leucanthum is a perennial with opposite linear to oblong leaves and white ray flowers. The disc
is yellow. The rays are frequently, but not always, marked by purple or gray veins underneath. Melampodium leucanthum is found in dry foothills and along mid-elevation dirt roads.
