Paxistima myrsinites is a sprawling, low somewhat viney herb with a woody stem. The dark green leaves are small
and lanceolate with a strong central vein. The flowers are very distinctive. They have a nectary disc and
stamens that are easily seen to alternate with the petals. Paxistima myrsinites is found on mountain slopes
usually in at least partial shade.
