Pectis filipes is the more southern species of Pectis found in the Gila National Forest, with
Pectis angustifolia being more common in the northern and higher areas. Pectis filipes is a more open
plant, with the yellow flowerheads being solitary on peduncles rather than more sessile glomerules.
