Philonotis uncinata is generally found around the Gulf Coast of the US and in tropical areas elsewhere in the world. It is notable for a percurrent costa, long straight leaves, and a doubly toothed margin. The laminal cells are less than 5x long as they are wide. The cells are most prorulose at the distal end, though they can be prorulose at both ends.

Many thanks to the University of Colorado Herbarium (COLO), Erin Tripp, and Dina Clark for allowing us to photograph this specimen.
