Plagiomnium ciliare has abundant arching, horizontal branches with green stems
(plagiotropic branches). There are marginal teeth present from the apex almost to the base.
The teeth are made up of 1-3 cells and are rather blunt. The leaf apices are rounded to
acute. The leaf bases are decurrent.
