Plagiomnium medium (Bruch & Schimper) Koponen

Plagiomnium medium has larger leaves about 5mm long. They have a short cusp at the end of a rounded leaf apex. There is a distinct margin of elongate cells in a few rows, and single teeth that line the margin well below half way to the base. The similar Plagiomnium cuspidatum has single teeth on the margin that are only found on the upper half of the leaf. Plagiomnium medium is found in moist seepy areas at middle to higher elevation in mixed conifer forest.
