(Rothrock's Basketflower)

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Centaurea rothrockii Greenman

Plectocephalus rothrockii only has disc flowers, although the marginal disc flowers certainly have a beautiful purple and white petaloid appearance. Plectocephalus rothrockii is found in mid-elevation canyons in the Ponderosa Pine forest. Plectocephalus americanus is a similar species found in lower elevation plains.
