Poa pratensis is a rhizomatous perennial, allowing it to dominate large
areas. The glumes are distinctly keeled and scabrous. The glumes are distinctly shorter
than the first floret. The florets are cobwebby pubescent at the callus. Poa pratensis is found
at middle elevations in the Ponderosa forest areas of the Gila.
