Pseudocrossidium crinitum has leaves with a long mucronate tip or an awn, rather than the apiculate to short mucronate apex of Pseudocrossidium replicatum. The distal margins of both species are recurved to once revolute. Both species are found on cliff walls at middle elevations where there is a year round water source.
