Robinia rusbyi Wooton & Standley
Robinia neomexicana var. rusbyi is a large shrub or tree whose branches are armed with paired curved spines. The leaflets are ovate and sometimes mucronate (they have a small needle tip.) The flowers are pinkish and in racemes. New branch growth is reddish before turning gray. Robinia neomexicana var. rusbyi is found in canyons at middle elevation.
