Scrophularia macrantha is an upper elevation erect herb with open panicles of irregular flowers with bright red corollas with a small lower lip. The leaves are deltoid and serrate. The flowers are considerably larger and brighter red than those of Scrophularia parviflora. Scrophularia macrantha is found in moist canyons.
