Senecio flaccidus var. flaccidus is a common large herb or small shrub with a woody base. It is silvery-canescent
and has thread-like linear leaves. The flowerheads have a yellow disc with yellow rays. Senecio flaccidus var. flaccidus
is found at lower and mid-elevations, frequently in disturbed areas and along roadsides.
