Synonyms:
Chaetochloa grisebachii ampla Scribner & Merrill

Setaria grisebachii is an annual grass. There are bristles below the spikelets, giving the plant a bristle-like appearance. The bristles have upward pointing barbs. The main axis is visible. This grass is often colored with green and purple can be quite beautiful.
