Status: Exotic, considered a noxious invasive species in California, Oregon & elsewhere
Synonyms:
Genista juncea (Linnaeus) Scop.
Spartium junceum is an exotic ornamental species found in and around gardens in Silver City and not in the wildnerness.
It is a perennial shrub with small inconspicuous leaves and large numbers of bright yellow flowers in the spring.
