Sphaeralcea polychroma is best recognized by its white to pale pink flowers and growth to heights of 3-6 feet tall. S. polychroma is usually found in the Rio Grande River corridor of central New Mexico, but Wendy Graves has found a small population growing in the Gila NF just downhill from the first hairpin east of Emory Pass on Hwy 152.
