Synonyms:
Agrostis cryptandra Torrey

Sporobolus cryptandrus is a perennial with a hairy ligule. The small spikelets are 1-2mm long. The panicles are either open or entirely enclosed within the leaf sheath, but not densely contracted as in Sporobolus contractus.
