Thalictrum fendleri is a tall slender perennial herb of middle elevation slopes. The leaves are lobed or crenate. There are usually separate male and female plants (dioecious). The filaments on the stamens are long and dangle in a characteristic fashion. The pistillate flowers have enlarged brush-like stigmas to collect the airborne pollen. There are no petals and the sepals are greenish.
