Tragus berteronianus is an exotic grass with leaf blades that have hairs along the edges. Probably the most distinguishing characteristic though is the obvious hooked, bulbous based prickles on the glumes. The spikelets occur in a terminal spike. Tragus berteronianus is found in sandy waste ground near Silver City.
