Typhaceae
(Cattail Family)


The Typhaceae are perennial plants that require a wet habitat. They can be either partially submerged in shallow water or in a marsh. They are rhizomatous. The male (staminate) flowers are located at the top of the inflorescence, with the pistillate (female) flowers separated and below.
