Master of Arts - Teaching

For teachers who want to provide instruction at higher levels or get focused training in one area, this degree grows experienced educators into masters of curriculum, pedagogy, instructional methodology, research and assessment. While the MAT can be a route to initial licensure, an alternative licensure certificate can be embedded in the program as well. Emphasizing culturally responsive and ethical practices, WNMU offers a variety of tracts (Elementary Education, Reading Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Specialization).

Master of Arts - Interdisciplinary Studies

Students with very specific career goals or graduate program needs can tailor their degrees accordingly through the interdisciplinary studies program, which allows you to select a batch of study areas according to your interests and choose how quickly to move through the requirements. This flexible program qualifies you to teach dual and concurrent enrollment courses as well as lower division courses at colleges and universities.

Master of Social Work

The fastest track to being a certified dual enrollment or AP social studies teacher, this program provides specialized knowledge and uses an Applied Liberal Arts and Sciences framework to facilitate exploration of life’s big questions, allowing you to do so through course selections.

Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education, Trauma Informed Practice

Early childhood educators will develop a deep understanding of students living with trauma, violence, and chronic stress, also learning to engage, build relationships with, and ultimately teach young children who may be at-risk or hard to reach due to social injustice conditions. The program builds the capacity for professionals to implement trauma-informed practices while prioritizing equitable practices and culturally responsive approaches.
