WNMU FOUNDATION

The Western New Mexico University Foundation offers numerous scholarships, funded by the contributions of businesses, non-profit entities, and individuals, to students who meet the criteria established by our generous scholarship donors.

Upon completion of the scholarship application (deadline is March 1) students will be considered for various private scholarships specifically aligned with their career and academic goals.

Recipients may:

  • be new or returning students depending upon the scholarship awarded
  • reside in- or out-of-state depending upon the scholarship criteria

    Recipients must:

  • be full-time students
  • have a grade point average as listed in the scholarship criteria (many scholarships require a grade point of 2.5 or higher)

    Award Renewal Requirement:

  • Recipients must continue to meet the donor criteria for the scholarship awarded.

    WNMU Foundation Scholarships

    Scholarship applications will be reviewed by the donor, the academic department, and the Foundation Office. The amount of the award will be determined by the earnings that the endowed scholarship has accumulated during the period prior to the award. It may be possible that earnings do not meet expectations and therefore awards will be reduced or eliminated for that period of time.

    ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

    Board of Regents Scholarship

  • A tuition-only scholarship awarded to undergraduates who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement
  • The recipient must be a state of New Mexico resident and be enrolled full-time
  • One-third of these scholarships are reserved for students who demonstrate financial need
  • Applications for these scholarships must be submitted each year through the Financial Aid Office 575-538-6173
  • They are not automatically renewed from one year to the next

    Faculty Scholarship Fund

  • For WNMU students who have completed one or more years of university work with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Applications for these scholarships must be submitted each year through the Financial Aid Office 575-538-6173

    Fry Foundation Scholarship

  • Scholarship is offered to Cochise County, Arizona residents and graduates of Cochise County high schools
  • Application is made through Cochise College. 800-966-7943, 4190 W. Hwy 80, Douglas, AZ 85607

    Santa Rita Lodge AF and AM 4 Scholarship

  • Scholarship is offered to WNMU students
  • Application is made through the Santa Rita Lodge, 44 Racetrack Road (P.O. Drawer 1038), Bayard, New Mexico, 88023

    New Mexico Lottery Scholarship

  • This scholarship is a renewable full tuition award, which may be received for up to eight consecutive semesters, beginning with the student’s second semester in college
  • Applicants must have graduated from a New Mexico high school (or be a New Mexico GED recipient) and have enrolled full-time in a degree bound college program during the first regular semester following high school graduation
  • To qualify the student must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA with at least 12 credit hours earned per semester and submit the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • No scholarship application is needed
  • The FAFSA Application is made through the Financial Aid Office (575) 538-6173

    WNMU Early Freshman Scholarship

  • This scholarship is a first semester “bridge” to the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship. It is offered to cover full tuition cost for the qualifying student’s first semester
  • Applicants must have graduated from a New Mexico high school or be a New Mexico GED recipient
  • Applicants may qualify with an ACT score of 17 and GPA of 3.5, 18 ACT and 3.25 GPA, or 19 ACT score and 3.0 GPA
  • Applicants submit the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Early Freshman Scholarship application form
  • The FAFSA Application is made through the Admissions Office (575) 538-6000

    New Mexico Scholars Program Scholarship

  • The purpose of the program is to recognize qualified New Mexico high school graduates
  • NM high school graduate with total family income less than $30,000.00, upper 5% of graduating class or an ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1020, United States citizenship
  • Applications for these scholarships must be submitted each year through the Financial Aid Office 575-538-6173

    Endowed Merit Scholarship

  • Recipients will score a minimum of 26 on the ACT or an equivalent score on the test that the student has taken
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Scholarships will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate degree seeking student
  • The recipients must be residents of New Mexico

    NM Legislative Endowed Scholarship

  • The recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the university's financial aid office
  • Recipients will be Pell eligible
  • Recipients will score a minimum of 22 on the ACT or an equivalent score on the test that the student has taken
  • Recipient(s) will have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or greater
  • The recipients must be residents of New Mexico

    Harrison H. Schmitt and Teresa A. Fitzgibbon Scholarship

  • The Honorable Senator Harrison Schmitt has provided a scholarship to a freshman student
  • Recipients will be full-time, degree-seeking students who demonstrated an above-average academic achievement
  • The recipients must be residents of New Mexico

    Harold Runnels Scholarship

  • The family of Harold Runnels has established this scholarship in memory of our state representative
  • Recipients will be full-time, degree-seeking student
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average
  • The recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the university's financial aid office

     

    ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS

    Alumni Scholarship

  • Preference will be given to applicants who are a child from a WNMU Alumna/us
  • The Alumni Scholarship Committee will review the essays, academic records and financial resources of the qualified applicants
  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 Scale)

    Sunwest Alumni Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a descendent of a WNMU Alumna/us
  • Recipients will be full-time WNMU degree-seeking students
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average

    ART SCHOLARSHIPS

    Ira Braley Art Scholarship

  • The recipient will be enrolled at WNMU and majoring in Art
  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will be full-time, degree-seeking students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Recipient must be a New Mexico resident

    DeGrazia Art Scholarship

  • Recipient must be a New Mexico or Arizona resident
  • The recipients must be minority students studying in fine arts
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average

    Francis & Dorothy McCray Art Scholarship

  • Recipients will be majoring in art
  • Must submit an art portfolio to the Art Department
  • Qualified candidates will hold a GPA of at least 2.5

    John Stermer Art Scholarship

  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate and graduate, degree-seeking students
  • Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • The recipients must be studying in the field of Art

    Lorraine Schula Scholarship

  • Preference will be given to Art students with an interest in visual arts, painting, sculpture and music
  • Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • The recipients must be studying in the field of Art

    Chase Webb Scholarship

  • The recipients must be enrolled as fully-admitted, degree-seeking students
  • ½ awarded to an Art major, ½ awarded to an Interdisciplinary major with interest in theater
  • Students must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

    CCCC/Robert Lee Kasten Expressive Arts State Match Scholarship

  • WNMU fulltime undergraduate student
  • Art and Interdisciplinary major with Expressive Arts participation
  • 2.5 GPA or higher

    ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS

    Tony Aragon Athletic Scholarship

  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will participate in Intercollegiate Athletics at WNMU
  • Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA
  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico

    Brancheau Family Scholarship

  • The recipient will be a resident of the State of New Mexico or a graduate of West Covina High School in California
  • Recipient will be an undergraduate student
  • Recipient will participate in Intercollegiate Athletics at WNMU
  • Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA

    Ralph Craig/W.A. Wise Scholarship

  • The recipient will be a resident of the State of New Mexico and a New Mexico high school graduate
  • Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA.
  • Awarded to student-athletes who participate in WNMU football

     

    Mr. & Mrs. Paul Lee Hunter, Jr. Football Scholarship

  • The recipient will be a student-athlete who participates in WNMU football
  • Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA.
  • The recipients will be undergraduate students

    Alvin “Al” Johnson Athletic Scholarship

  • The recipient will be a student-athlete for WNMU
  • The recipient will be an undergraduate student
  • Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA
  • Academic merit will be considered along with any other donor criteria

    O’Malley State Match Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents of Illinois, and have a minimum grade point average of 2.0
  • Must have received a letter in any varsity sport, including cheerleading
  • Recipients will participate in Intercollegiate Athletics at WNMU

    Joe S. Palmer Memorial Scholarship

  • Scholarships will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate degree seeking students
  • Current WNMU athlete under NCAA rules
  • Recipient(s) must have at least a 2.5 out of a 4.0 GPA
  • Proceeds from the fund each year will be used to support WNMU students who are in financial need

    Jeff Weiler Memorial Scholarship

  • The recipient will be a student-athlete who participates in WNMU football
  • Recipients of this scholarship must also be of good character and maintain at minimum a GPA of 2.5
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need
  • The recipient will be a resident of the State of New Mexico

    Hugh O. and Elmer Lawrence Worthen Scholarship

  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • The recipient will be a student-athlete for WNMU

  • Recipients must have and maintain a GPA of 3.25 or higher and be degree-seeking full-time students

    Charles Hatfield Memorial Scholarship

  • Recipient may be an undergraduate or graduate student

    Murray Ryan Scholarship

  • Recipient may be an undergraduate student
  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico
  • The recipients will be majoring in business
  • Recipients must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be degree-seeking full-time students

    Rosina Patterson Scholarship (GIA)

  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico
  • The recipient will currently hold a valid New Mexico driver’s license
  • The recipients will be majoring in business
  • Recipients must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be degree-seeking full-time students and currently enrolled in a business class

    CHILD DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP

    Dr. Peggy Brown Memorial Scholarship

  • The scholarship will be awarded to students at the beginning of their sophomore year
  • The recipients will be female
  • Qualified candidates will maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, demonstrating scholastic performance ability

  • Recipients will be studying Early Childhood Education

    COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

    Arthur L. Bach Memorial Scholarship

  • The recipients will be graduate students majoring in Education
  • Academic achievement with a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time in WNMU

    Beth Bingaman Scholarship

  • The recipients will be undergraduate students majoring in Education
  • Academic achievement with a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time WNMU students
  • Students must demonstrate an aptitude and interest in academic subjects
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need
  • An essential requirement is that students demonstrate high potential for entering and remaining in the field of Elementary or Secondary level of teaching

    Gowanlock Memorial Scholarship

  • The recipients will be undergraduate students majoring in Education
  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico, Texas, or Arizona and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
  • Recipients will demonstrate leadership in school activities or in the community
  • Recipients will be full-time, degree-seeking students

    Dr. Haddon and Eunice H. James Teachers Education Scholarship

  • >Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Recipients will be majoring in Art with the intent to become a teacher
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average
  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate students

    Margaret M. Jones Scholarship

  • Qualified candidates must be undergraduate students
  • Awards will be distributed based on financial need
  • Recipients must be full-time Education majors
  • Recipients must be in good standing with the University
  • The values of hard work, perseverance, and the ability to achieve goals also are important elements in determining who should receive this award
  • Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

    Peggy Larisch Memorial Scholarship

  • The recipients will be majoring in Mathematics, Computer Science or Education
  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico and graduates of a Grant County high school
  • Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate or graduate, degree-seeking students

    Don C. and Della H. Montoya Tutorial Fund Scholarship

  • Preference will be given to students majoring in Education
  • One-credit-hour scholarship for Teacher Education candidate providing tutoring in Reading, Language, Art and/or Math to Public School students and not intended for bilingual or ESL instruction
  • Demonstrated financial need, 2.5 GPA or higher, undergraduate or graduate student

    Sechler/Rhoades Education Fund Scholarship

  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate or graduate student teachers

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average

  • The recipients will have demonstrated financial need

    Sechler/Rhoades P.E.O. Scholarship

  • The recipients will be female
  • Qualified candidates will hold a GPA of at least 3.2
  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time as undergraduate Education majors

    Olive Marlowe Smithson Scholarship

  • The recipients will be 30 years old or older
  • Five years teaching experience required
  • Recipient will have a desire to continue in teaching

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher grade point average
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Full-time graduate student

    Milan G. Stepanovich Scholarship

  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time as undergraduates
  • Qualified candidates will hold a GPA of at least 3.2
  • Recipients will be serious about becoming a teacher
  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico

    John L. Taylor Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Recipients must be undergraduates enrolled full-time
  • Students must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Preference will be given to students majoring in any one of the academic programs offered within the College of Education

    Stella Vaughan Scholarship

  • Preference will be given to students majoring in any one of the academic programs offered within the College of Education
  • Recipients must be undergraduates enrolled full-time
  • Recipients will have financial need as determined by the scholarship application and/or the federal aid application

    Twenty Four Club/Christine Drangmeister Scholarship

  • Recipients will have a GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Eligibility begins when students achieve sophomore, junior or senior status
  • Recipients will be residents of Grant County
  • Female students majoring in Elementary Education
  • The recipients will have financial need

    John A. (Jack) and Arley M. Reece Scholarship

  • Both full-time undergraduate and graduate students may be considered for this scholarship
  • Recipients will be of good character
  • Recipients will have financial need as determined by the scholarship application and/or the federal aid application
  • Recipients will have strong ties to the community, demonstrated through extracurricular activities, religious endeavors or community service

  • Recipients will be majoring in English
  • The recipients will be undergraduate students

    Dr. Nesta M. Thompson/Joe Harlan Scholarship

  • Recipients will be in their junior or senior year
  • Recipients must be studying English or Education with an emphasis in English
  • The student selected each year must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average

    GALLUP GRADUATE STUDIES CENTER SCHOLARSHIP

    Richard Kauzlaric Memorial Scholarship

  • Qualified candidates will have demonstrated academic merit
  • Gallup graduate students taking approved courses at the Gallup Graduate Studies Center
  • Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated their commitment to education and counseling

  • Recipients will score a minimum of 24 on the ACT
  • Recipients will be permanent residents of New Mexico

    Rotary Scholarship

  • Recipients will be in their junior or senior year
  • The recipients will be degree-seeking students who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

    Adelaide Glaser Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Eligibility begins when students achieve sophomore status
  • Recipients will be well-rounded with demonstrated leadership ability
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Recipients will be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours per term as degree seeking students

    Will T. (Bill) Graham Memorial Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Recipients will demonstrate leadership in school activities or in the community
  • Recipients will have financial need and a demonstrated ability and desire to succeed
  • Preference will be given to students with an interest in agriculture
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average
  • The recipients will be undergraduate students

    Gila Flyfishers Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents ofNew Mexico
  • The recipients will be undergraduate students
  • The recipients will have financial need

    Nobel S. La Fond Memorial Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents ofNew Mexico
  • The recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate financial need as defined by the University's financial aid office
  • The recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will have at least a 2.5 GPA

     

    Daniel A. Levy Memorial Scholarship

  • Recipients will be undergraduate degree-seeking non-athlete students
  • Recipients of this scholarship must also be of good character and maintain at minimum a GPA of 2.5
  • Recipients will be male

    Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Scholarship (GIA)

  • PFLAG’S preference is to award the scholarship to a student who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or a straight/ heterosexual ally
  • Candidates must submit a one page essay with their application outlining why they should be considered for a scholarship of this nature and detailing the candidate’s own efforts to  promote LGBTQ equality
  • The recipients must be full-time degree-seeking students with a minimum GPA of 2.5

    Phelps Dodge/Chino Mines Scholarship

  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time undergraduate or graduate, degree-seeking students
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Long range educational goals

    Mark Shepard Scholarship

  • Recipients must be full-time degree-seeking students with a minimum of 120 credit hours
  • Students must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 or higher grade point average
  • Preference given to candidates who are working on campus full-time or part-time, and to single parents

    Frank Tatsch Scholarship

  • Recipients will be full-time undergraduate students
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need
  • Recipients will have at least a 2.5 GPA

    HEALTH SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP

    Whitney & LaVera Shoup Health Sciences Scholarship

  • Must have plans to enter the field of human health care, included but not limited to Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry or Nursing
  • Must take at least four hours of Natural Science classes per semester
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need

    HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

    Twenty Four Club/Betty Cook Memorial Scholarship

  • Grant County high school female graduate (Silver, Cobre, Cliff)
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 3.4 or higher grade point average
  • The Twenty Four Club is directly involved in selection of scholarship recipient

    Fred R. Baca Scholarship

  • Recipients must be a Silver high school graduates

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico

  • The recipients should demonstrate 90% academic achievement

  • Awarded to student-athletes who participate 10%

  • Will be awarded annually to a different student

    Joan Carney Foy Memorial Scholarship

  • Recipients must be a Silver and Cobre high school graduates
  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA

    Lucy and John McMillian Memorial Scholarship

  • A memorial to Lucy McMillian who served as a member of the Board of Regents until her death in 1968
  • Preference is given to graduates of Cliff High School

    Marie Matson Scholarship

  • The recipient must be a Deming High School graduate
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Recipients will be undergraduate or graduate students

    HISTORY SCHOLARSHIP

    Henry J. Berquist Scholarship

  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Recipients will be majoring in History

    MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIPS

    Dr. Oliver Theodore Snodgrass Scholarship

  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipient(s) will be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mathematics

  • Donor's preference is to award the scholarships to a mathematics major

    North Sea Montreux Jazz Scholarship

  • Scholarships will be awarded to full-time undergraduate, degree-seeking students annually
  • Interdisciplinary majors with interest in music
  • At minimum students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

    A.A. (Abramo) and Geraldine Parotti Scholarship

  • Scholarships will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate or graduate students
  • Recipients will have earned a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Interdisciplinary major with interest in music

  • 50% Scholarship will be awarded to full-time WNMU undergraduate or graduate

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA

    NATURAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

    Jesse Bingaman Science Scholarship

  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipient will be a full-time student majoring in one of the Sciences
  • Student must demonstrate aptitude to pursue a career in a scientific field
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA grade point average

    Bruce Hayward Biology Merit Scholarship

  • Recipients will be in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Proceeds from the scholarship each year will be used to benefit full-time WNMU students who are majoring in Biology, Botany or Zoology

    Ralph A. Fisher, Jr. Scholarship

  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico
  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipient will be majoring in Biology, Botany, Zoology or Forestry/Wildlife
  • Recipients will maintain at minimum a 3.2 GPA

    Terry Heiner Scholarship

  • Qualified candidates will be majoring in one of the natural science programs
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA

     

    Ida Mitchell Moore Scholarship

  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico
  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Qualified candidates will be majoring in one of the natural science programs
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA

    Ken Ladner Science Scholarship

  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • The donors desire that the scholarship recipients be degree-seeking and majoring in Chemistry or Physical Science. Recipients will have an expressed interest in science education.

    Robert W. Sevy Science Scholarship

  • Qualified candidates will be majoring in one of the natural science programs
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA

    Nancy & Jerry Strickling Scholarship

  • Recipients will be majoring in biology
  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will have at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Recommendations from teachers and counselors required

    Eric Scott Kennedy Memorial Scholarship

  • Preference will be given to students who participate on the WNMU football team
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Recipients will be in their junior or senior year
  • Qualified candidates will be majoring in one of the natural science programs
  • Interest in Forestry/Wildlife

    Rolling Stones Gem and Mineral Society Scholarship (GIA)

  • Qualified candidates will be majoring in one of the other natural science programs at Western New Mexico University, interest in Geology
  • Recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Recipients will have at least a 2.5 GPA

    Town & Country Garden Club Scholarship (GIA)

  • Recipients will be majoring in Biology, Botany, Zoology, Forestry/ Wildlife or a related field approved by the TCGC scholarship committee
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Preference will be given to students entering their junior or senior year
  • Transfer students are eligible

    Town & Country Garden Club Scholarship (Freshman GIA)

  • Grant County high school female graduates (Silver, Cobre, Cliff, Opportunity, or Aldo Leopold)
  • Recipients must have an earned high school GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Recipients will be majoring in Biology, Botany, Zoology, Forestry/Wildlife or a related field approved by the TCGC scholarship committee
  • Awardees must have a high school GPA of 3.0, and first semester WNMU GPA of 3.0 or higher to continue the scholarship for the second semester

    NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

    C. C. Cobb Nursing Scholarship (GIA)

  • Recipients will be full-time students accepted into the Nursing Program in the College of Health and Human Services at the University
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

    Kuthe Scholarship

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
  • The recipients will be undergraduate second-year nursing students
  • Letters to nursing selection committee required from applicant

    Kevan Brett Howard Memorial Nursing Scholarship

  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico

  • The recipients will be undergraduate nursing students

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA

    Melanie E. Lees Nursing Scholarship

  • The recipients will be residents of the State of New Mexico
  • Recipients will be nursing students
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

    Irene Lowe Nursing Scholarship

  • Recipients will be second-year nursing students
  • Preference will be given to single parents, male or female
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average

    Robert C. & Ione Martin Nursing Scholarship

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
  • The recipients will be second-year undergraduate nursing student
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need

    McIntire (Ogre) Scholarship (in memory of Helen Schupbach)

  • The recipients will be undergraduate students
  • Letters to nursing selection committee required from applicant
  • First year students and those with Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) are eligible
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

  • The recipients will be second-year undergraduate nursing students

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
  • The recipients will be second-year undergraduate nursing students
  • Recipients will have demonstrated financial need

    John A. (Jack) and Arley M. Reece Scholarship

  • Both full-time undergraduate and graduate students may be considered for this scholarship
  • Recipients will be of good character
  • Recipients will have financial need as determined by the scholarship application and/or the federal aid application

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Both full-time undergraduate and graduate students may be considered for this scholarship

  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

    John A. (Jack) and Arley M. Reece Scholarship

  • Both full-time undergraduate and graduate students may be considered for this scholarship
  • Recipients will be of good character
  • Recipients will have financial need as determined by the scholarship application and/or the federal aid application
  • Recipients will have strong ties to the community, demonstrated through extracurricular activities, religious endeavors or community service
  • Recipients will have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Qualified candidates will be majoring in College of Education, Social Science, or Nursing

    THEATER SCHOLARSHIPS

    Capt. J. R. Besse Scholarship

  • Recipients will be residents of New Mexico
  • Applicants may qualify with an ACT score of 17 and GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Interdisciplinary major with interest in Theater and Drama

    Herb McGrath Scholarship Fund

  • Full-time undergraduate students
  • Interdisciplinary major with interest in Theater
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

    Chase Webb Scholarship

  • The recipients must be enrolled as fully-admitted, degree-seeking students
  • One-half is awarded to an Art major, and one-half to an Interdisciplinary major with interest in theater
  • Students must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

    CCCC/Robert Lee Kasten Expressive Arts State Match Scholarship

  • Scholarship will be awarded to full-time undergraduates
  • Art and interdisciplinary majors with Expressive Arts participation
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA

    VETERAN SCHOLARSHIP

    Thomas P. Foy Scholarship

  • Students must be honorably discharged veterans of one of the branches of the United States Military or a child of a veteran
  • Recipients will be residents of Grant, Hidalgo or Luna counties
  • Full-time undergraduate students

    WOMEN RETURNING TO COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

    Barbara Brown AAUW Scholarship

  • Recipients will be non-traditional women starting or returning to college
  • At minimum, students must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA
