This honorary position is given to a person who has established presence in the poetry world, demonstrated a commitment to poetry, and embraced opportunities to engage in civil discourse. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, self-nominated, and residents of Grant County with community ties. With promoting poetry in the community being the primary duty of the Silver City Poet Laureate, the designee may also be asked to present an original commemorative poem at one or two public events. Lane Jr., NCC 2.00 – 2.20 pm Title: Shame in Supervision: Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis in Counselor Education Abstract: The supervisory working alliance helps counselors-in-training (CITs) develop into licensed professionals. During supervision, CITs encounter challenges that lead to feelings of shame. This shame left unaddressed can lead to ruptures in the supervisory alliance. The experience of CITs feeling shame in supervision has been given little attention in Counselor Education literature. This phenomenon was explored using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). The following convergent themes were discovered: feeling unheard, belief in wrongdoing, disengagement, feeling scared, valuing validation, and feeling lectured.
