The WNMU Expressive Arts Department is hosting the annual Arts Extravaganza on Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Francis McCray Gallery of Contemporary Art and the Chino Building.
DEMONSTRATIONS:
Graphite Transfer Drawing
2D: John Abbott, Chino Building Room 118, 9:00am to 9:30am – Learn this gratifying, serendipitous process of graphite transfer drawings while brushing up on your art history knowledge.
Portraits On The Wild Side
Photography: Jim Pendergast, Chino Building Room 25, 9:30am to 10:10am – Students will be guiding in both camera capture and image editing to create expressive portraits of themselves or a friend.
3D Printing
Sculpture: Michael Metcalf, Chino Building Room 111, 9:30am to 11:30am – Witness the 3D printing process and other sculpture processes.
Wheel Throwing Demonstration
Ceramics: Jessica Wilson, McCray Building Room 124, 10:00am to 12:00pm – Watch the exciting process of creating ceramic forms using the pottery wheel.
Photoshop Morphing Magic
Graphic Design: Nikki O’Connell, Chino Building Room 25, 10:15am to 10:55am – Learn how to morph your face into an animal or action figure.
Pentatonic Grooves: Blues Style!
Music: Danny Reyes, Bryant Chaffino, Michael Acosta, Parotti Building Room 124, 11:00am to 11:30am – Jam out with music faculty while learning about the pentatonic scale.
Animation
New Media: Peter Bill, Parotti Building Room 150, 11:30am to 12:30apm – Stop-motion animation demonstration
