1. Senate Bill Number 058- Allocation of funds not to exceed $400.00 for graduation stoles, within the purview of the Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. Senate bill 058 is sponsored by Senator McGhiey and cosponsored by Senator Arganda.
2. Senate Bill Number 059- Allocation of funds not to exceed $900.00 basketball cancer awareness games, within the purview of the Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. Senate bill 059 is sponsored by Senator Moreno and cosponsored by Senator Gonzalez.
3. Senate Bill Number 060- Allocation of funds not to exceed $300.00 for District 10 supplies, within the purview of the Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. Senate bill 060 is sponsored by Senator Partido and cosponsored by Senator Moreno.
4. Senate Bill Number 061- Allocation of funds not to exceed $300.00 for District 3 supplies, within the purview of the Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. Senate bill 061 is sponsored by Senator Smith and cosponsored by Senator Chavez.
5. Senate Bill Number 062- Allocation of funds not to exceed $1,200.00 for Mustang Showcase Supplies and shirts, within the purview of the Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. Senate bill 062 is sponsored be Senator Smith and cosponsored Senator Kester.
6. Senate Bill Number 063- Proposal to make revisions to the ASWNMU Constitution. Revisions will include the following items:
” The Transfer of Clubs from Student Government to Student Life starting fiscal year 2019.
” If the transfer of clubs is approved:
i. Article X Campus Clubs and Organizations shall be removed from the ASWNMU Constitution.
ii. Article II, Section II, Item D3 pertaining to Student Treasurer serving as clubs committee chair shall be removed.
iii. Senate Bylaws, Article IV, Section 1 pertaining to the agenda precedence of clubs and organizations shall be removed.
” The position of Senate Secretary shall be eliminated, and all position specific duties shall transfer to ASWNMU Executive Secretary.
i. Article VIII pertaining to the Senate Secretary’s description of duties, election and vacancies of position shall be removed.
ii. Article VI, Section IV pertaining to position duties of Senate Pro Tempore; ‘Senate Secretary’ shall be replaced with ‘Executive Secretary.’
” The position of Governmental Affairs Director shall be eliminated, and all duties and responsibilities of this position shall transfer to ASWNMU Attorney General.
i. Article I, Section I, Item A6 shall be removed.
ii. Article I, Section II, Item A8 pertaining to the appointment of the Governmental Affairs Director position shall be removed.
iii. Article II, Section II, Item F pertaining to the duties of the Governmental Affairs Director shall be removed.
iv. Article IV, Section IV, Item F pertaining to the duties of the Supreme Court Chief Justice; ‘Governmental Affairs Director’ shall be removed.
v. Senate Bylaws, Article IV, Section I, Item VI. F. pertaining to the agenda structure shall be removed
” The position of Associate Justice shall be eliminated, leaving 1 Associate Justice position rather than 2.
” Addition of minimum requirement to Article VI, Section V. Item H shall state ‘A minimum of at least 1 semester of Student Government background shall be required for all incoming ASWNMU Presidents. This shall include all Universities/Colleges that hold Student Government Councils.
i. Article VI, Section V, Item G pertaining to election recommendations; ‘President’ shall be removed.
ii. If no student has such experience with student government/council in Higher Education, then the opportunity to run for President shall be extended to all students at WNMU.
” Language needing to be changed in accordance with Article I of ASWNMU Constitution currently reads as follows:
i. Section II: All persons who are enrolled part or full-time shall be members of and will have full rights and responsibilities as the constitution outlines.
” To address this langue discrepancy, the proposed change to the Constitution is as follows:
a. Section II: All persons who are enrolled part or full-time shall be eligible for inclusion into the ASWNMU via election or appointment and will have full rights and responsibilities as the constitution outlines.
b. Within the purview of the Associated Students of Western New Mexico University. Senate bill 063 is sponsored by Senator Kester and cosponsored by Senator Smith.
