Please join the Christening of the Urns and Celebration of Barbara Peppey’s Life in the lovely surroundings of the clay studio Barbara loved so well.
Saturday, April 16 starting at 11:00 and ending by 1:00
The celebration will be in the ceramics studio of WNMU in the McCray Art Building (next to the tennis courts) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will be moderated by Claude Smith, who got her started with making pottery.
Together, we will launch the urns containing her ashes with stories, laughter, and tears as we christen them. These beautiful urns were created by hands and hearts of Barbara’s teachers and friends in the clay program.
If moved or inclined, please share your thoughts, memories, poems, brief readings, and music. Your spontaneous offerings are welcome.
We will be self-catering so, if you can, please bring along a few simple finger foods to share that need no prep or clean-up. We will start with a snack mixer, milling around, greeting and nourishing each other while reflecting on Barbara. Then we will come together to christen the urns that hold her ashes. There will be an open mic to hear from all who care to share Barbara thoughts and stories.
Barbara loved being with friends and her adoring husband, Gerry, making beautiful pottery in the ceramics program, and learning to weave at WNMU. She was an avid student there for several years.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that friends consider a donation to Friends of Clay for its scholarship program. There will be a scholarship in Barbara’s name.
