LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR SANCHEZ TO HIGHLIGHT
GOVERNOR MARTINEZ’ NEW TEACHER SUPPORT PACKAGE IN SILVER CITY
Lieutenant Governor John Sanchez will highlight the new teacher support package which Governor Susana Martinez announced earlier this week. The proposal would raise pay for starting teachers, provide stipends to all teachers for classroom supplies, and establish an effective teacher mentorship program. Lieutenant Governor Sanchez will be joined by Western New Mexico University (WNMU) faculty, staff, and students; members of the community; and approximately 150 exchange students from Mexico studying in the field of education. Following the announcement, Lieutenant Governor Sanchez will deliver the keynote address at the WNMU Winter Commencement Ceremony.
