Rubiaceae (Madder Family)
The Rubiaceae are mostly smaller herbs, at least in the Gila National Forest, and have whorled or opposite leaves. Some members of the Rubiaceae are larger but not native here, such as the Gardenia or the Coffea, the plant from which coffee is made. The Rubiaceae have a two chambered ovary.
