Sexual and/or domestic violence affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men worldwide, of these crimes less than 50% are reported. These statistics are also representative of the Grant County Community, that is why on October 28, The Center for Gender Equity at WNMU, Silver City Sexual Assault Services and El Refugio invite you to come dressed in your zombie best to rise up and shatter the silence against sexual and domestic violence. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Western New Mexico University’s Student Memorial Center Patio. This is also the starting point for a march down College Ave to Broadway and Bullard, where there will be guest speakers, a photo booth, food and refreshments, and prizes.
