When an anti-LGBT hate group’s threats of legal action forced a Mount Horeb school to cancel plans to support a young transgender student by reading “I Am Jazz,” co-authored by a transgender girl, the community rose up and put courage before fear. More than 600 people -- from grandparents to school children -- packed the school library for a reading of the book organized by an amazing parent who simply wanted to support the girl and her family.
