Mathematical Association of America Southwestern Section Conference

The Mathematical Association of America Southwestern Section and the New Mexico Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges will convene for a conference at Western New Mexico University on April 12 and 13, 2019. Hosted by WNMU, the conference features two keynote speakers: Polya Lecturer Dr. Carlos Castillo-Chavez and Section Visitor Mathematical Association of America Secretary Dr. James Sellers. Dr. James Sellers Dr. James Sellers is Professor of Mathematics and Associate Head for Undergraduate Mathematics at Penn State University. He also serves as the distinguished secretary of the MAA. Dr. Sellers will discuss a variety of issues surrounding advising of undergraduate students. NASO Student and public meetings

We have meetings every Friday at 2:30 pm to discuss events, activities, festivals, public outreach, and fundraising events. The public is welcome to discuss their ideas or involvement, students are welcome to utilize the Native American Cultural Center, and recognize the Native American population in the surrounding area.
