15th WNMU Academic Student Research Symposium and Career Fair

The 15th WNMU Academic Student Research Symposium and Career Fair (fall) is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, December 4, 2019, in Graham Gym. Students will present their scholarly work (posters, exhibits, oral presentations, etc.) at this event and to visit with 30+ local and regional employers. For more information, click here. Ready, set, work! Western New Mexico University Career Services along with WNMU Alumni Affairs is hosting a pair of events to boost candidates’ chances of getting hired and match businesses with professionals.   Ready (Nov 14th) New Mexico Workforce Department & Alumni panel train students and community members to successfully understand and explore the job market and discover where they fit. In the WNMU Miller Library, the panels start at 3 p.m. and end with free pizza at 6 p.m.   Set (December 4th) A career fair at WNMU on Wednesday, December 4, allows job seekers to apply for positions with businesses that are currently hiring and walk into job interviews on the spot. The First United Methodist Church of Silver City, together with the First United Methodist churches of Deming, Lordsburg, and Mimbres, have formed the United Methodist Campus Ministry for Western New Mexico University. Their initial ministry is supporting WNMU veteran students and their friends. The United Methodist Campus Ministry for WNMU hosts a dinner for WNMU veterans and friends on the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Silver City (300 College Avenue), which is a few steps from campus.
