50 Years of Segregation & Discrimination: Grant County’s Turbulent Social History  

On Thursday, April 25, political scientist and historian Stephen Fox will present a lecture and moderate a discussion covering Grant County’s history of segregation politics toward its Hispanic populace. Covering 50 years of history, Mr. Fox will present a multimedia review demonstrating specific and systemic policies aimed at disfranchising Grant County’s Hispanic population.  Joining Stephen Fox will be Arthur Martinez, professor emeritus of political science at Western New Mexico University, who will recount his experiences in the Grant County area during the mid-20thCentury.
