What: Western New Mexico University, in collaboration with PNM, will be announcing a new plan to decrease southwest New Mexico’s carbon footprint though the proposed PNM Community Solar Direct project that will provide 50 megawatts of electric into the state’s power grid upon review and approval from the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission.
Who: WNMU President Dr. Joseph Shepard, along with PNM Resources CEO Patricia Vincent-Collawn, will unveil plans to transition Western New Mexico University to more sustainable energy sources. Additional Community Solar Direct program participants include The Town of Silver City, Grant County, The City of Deming and Deming Public Schools.
