Amaranthaceae (Amaranth or Pigweed Family)
The Amaranthaceae generally have clusters of many small flowers,
with 4 or 5 sepals but no without any petals. The ovary is superior and matures
as a capsule. The plants formerly within Chenopodiaceae are now included in the
Amaranthaceae.
