The Southwest Office of Regional Data (SWORD) is designed to
assist individuals and businesses that are located in the area,
looking to locate and/or do business here. Some of the data
presented here is not available in any other website due to the rural
nature of our area and the fact that there are no metropolitan statistical
areas in the southwest corner of New Mexico.
This site is beneficial to site selectors, site developers,
realtors, chambers of commerce, councils of governments, organizations,
grant writers, researchers, students and others simply looking for data
on the area.
As more data becomes available, the website will continue
to grow and be enlarged to include other counties in New Mexico.
It is the mission of Western New Mexico University to reach out to
the communities it serves to partner and assist in economic development
and to provide the information that is required to help communities
grow.
